A Postdoctoral Fellowship position in Immune Oncology is available immediately in the laboratory of Linda M, Bradley, Ph.D. at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute in La Jolla, CA. The focus of research is on a newly discovered checkpoint inhibitor, PSGL-1 (Immunity 44: 1190-203, 2016). The laboratory studies adaptive and innate immune mechanisms that act as checkpoint regulators of T cell immune responses using murine models as well as clinical translation in in studies of cancer immunotherapy (please see http://thebradleylab.com). The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in immunology with expertise in T cell immunology and in experimental approaches to study T cell functions using in vivo models. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can function independently in design and execution of experiments, has excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. A strong publication record as well as eligibility to apply for fellowship support are required. The Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute is located on the Torrey Pines Mesa in La Jolla that is home to a broad base of immunology research in both academic and biotech sectors.

I am available throughout AAI 2017 to meet and discuss this position. In addition, the lab has an oral presentation in the Block Symposium: CD8 T Cells in Tumor Immunology entitled “PSGL-1 as a negative regulator of effector, exhausted, and memory T cells” on Sunday May 14 Room 202A at 10:15 AM with the poster presentation on Monday, May 15, 2:30-3:45 PM. I will be available to meet at those locations as well.
