Senior/Principal Scientist, Innate Cellular Immunopharmacology

Our Translational Immunology and Immunopharmacology group is seeking a Senior/Principal Scientist, Innate Cellular Immunpharmacology to work hands-on at our Cambridge, MA site.

Principal responsibilities:

  • Develop cell-based assays for characterization of NK and myeloid cell modulating drugs for immuno-oncology
  • Lead ‘from the bench’, providing direct supervision to 2-3 Scientists/Associate Scientists
  • Oversee all aspects of assay design, optimization, validation, and implementation
  • Cure cancer by leading from the bench.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Highly knowledgeable immunologist with a proven track record in the field of immunooncology (industry experience highly preferred)
  • Extensive experience in the isolation, culture, and functional characterization of primary human innate immune cells, specifically NK cells
  • Ability to engineer NK cell lines (e.g., NK-92) and tumor cell lines to express receptors/ligands of interest
  • Creativity to design complex assays that address target-specific biology
  • Expertise in the measurement and analysis of NK cell assay readouts: proliferation, cytokine production, FACS-based immunophenotyping, mRNA profiling, cytolysis, etc.
  • Highly skilled with NK cell killing assays
  • Expert knowledge of NK cell biology and regulatory mechanisms
  • Experience developing high-throughput assay formats is highly desirable
  • Research experience with myeloid cells (macrophages, neutrophils, MDSC) is a plus
  • Expertise in creative thinking and multitasking with strong communication skills and comfort in a fast-paced, multinational work environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. with 6+ years or M.S. with 8+ years relevant experience
